Letter to members 12/2014
Dear Members and dear friends,
2014 has been the year of the twentieth birthday of our Register. We have celebrated it during our annual international Raduno, very well organized in Langhe by Emanuele Morteo. The Raduno has taken place in September for consistency with the date of Register foundation and it has concluded with a lunch at Alfa Blue Team where the Register has been physically founded in September 1994. We have remembered a some founder Register fathers, very well known personalities in the world of the historical and classic cars as Carlo Felice Bianchi Anderloni and Angelo Tito Anselmi and other figures that have strongly inspired it as the unforgotten and memorable Adriano Giorgetti, AFRA patron and daddy of our irreplaceable Claudio. We had the beautiful chance of visiting (some of us for the first time) Alfa Blue Team, the most important post war Alfa Romeo collection in the world, after the moving stop at Lopresto Collection where, guests of our friend Corrado, we have been able to admire the treasures present in it. We have had the pleasure of also spending these days between us, as usual in a climate of big friendship and thoughtlessness, together with old and dear friends, as Peter Marshall, that since some time we had not the opportunity to meet personally, Oliver Collins from Toronto and the new member ( wellcome!) Joost Gompels from Savannah, Pennsylvania (USA). Everything was ok and I believe that it is really right to thank very much Emanuele Morteo for the perfect direction. The 2015 International Raduno "The 6C 2300/2500 in Baden-Wurttemberg" will be organized in Germany by Matthias Metz from 5th to 7th June 2015 and it will be a splendid opportunity for many of us to visit the splendid area near Stuttgart. The final program will be published very soon on our website together with the entry form. The web site is really one of our excellences: very frequented, rich of news, events and photographs. As all the Register activities, the participation at Milan Autoclassica (March 20/22th, 2015) for instance, it has a cost that we willingly support because we consider it very much qualifying for the life of the Register itself but the economic aspect is as well very important and I kindly remember to everybody to pay the annual fee to the new treasurer Fabrizio Borghi as soon as possible: the associative share is in fact the only Register receipts and, a part from some generous liberality and some modest profit deriving from the Raduno, the only possibility of survival. We obviously also remember the 2014 for the exit of new book on the 6C written by Fabio Morlacchi and Stefano Salvetti , a work that the Register supported with big enthusiasm, that renews the pomps and the assents of the previous Tito Anselmi volume and that seems to me receiving the success that it deserves.
During the last general assembly, that has confirmed the Officers already in charge with the only treasurer's role exception in which Fabrizio Borghi has succeeded to Carlo Digrandi, that resigned due to too many working engagements and to which are addressed our thanks for the profuse engagement and affectionate greetings, someone fairly said that the International Register Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 is not old but young of twenty years!
I really think so and I should like to close this letter wishing to all of you and to your families my best wishes for a Merry Christmas and an happy 2015, year in which the Register will begin its third decade of life and activity.
Stefano Centanni
